In the tea plantations of south Malawi, a region of Malawi that produces massive quantities of tea for international export, over two thousand people work together their families harvesting and processing the crop. For many families, life on the tea plantation has existed for generations.

Malawi: child labour. The economy in Malawi is predominantly agriculture. Maize is one of the main subsistence crop. As in most agriculture societies, children undertake substantial amounts of work.

Malawi: day life in Lilongwe. Children are raised under strict family control, usually by the mother, until they leave home. They are expected to help with the chores of daily living, such as carrying water, cleaning the home, washing dishes and playing each other.
